Nn3 C-16

This C-16 2-8-0 in Nn3 is from a Republic Locomotive Works Kit using pewter castings and Marklin #8896 chassis. It has operating slide valve valve gear. This was my first venture in full operating valve gear.

This started with a Marklin #8827 for the chassis and a pewter shell for a K37 plus a tender for a K27 with a MicroTrains pilot #1044 modified for use in Nn3 with narrow gauge coupler in pocket.
This will have operating Valve gear and the first stage is visible.

Nn3 Pacific locomotive
Nn3 Pacific locomotive
This started with a K27 pewter boiler shell which was extend with a cast plug made from the original boiler. A K27 tender was added and a MicroTrains 1044 pilot was added. The pilot is modified in width and has Nn3 coupler in the pocket. While Pacific's were not common in N.A. the Newfoundland Railway did have several.

Nn3 K27 2-8-2 outside frame

Nn3 K27 made from the GHQ kit using a Marklin #8896 chassis with a Sagami 1013 motor. This one does not have tender pick up. It will pull a very good size train in Nn3, but not as much as a the GE class 90 diesels.

This D&RGW 2-6-0 #136 is the Marklin Bumble bee 88035. Right railroad but wrong engine for this colour scheme. But still an attractive engine.
